Snow Days!

Today marks the 5th day of snow days for our county. We have actually been out 6 days because last Monday was President's Day,I have had plenty of time to do things around the house, search Pinterest  and have enjoyed reading teacher blogs.

My favorite thing to do during this time however has been spending time with my little girl watching TV, playing games, and watching her play and dance.

I have also been doing some counting cross stitching, This is  a hobby that I have also enjoyed. It is so nice to have time to enjoy this again. It has become quite addictive. Each day I have hurried through housework so that I could get to it.

Next week is Read Across America week in honor or Dr. Suess. I am look for ideas for my little kindergarten students. I love reading to my class. They are so interested in books. I hope that I can continue to nurture their love of books.

Getting ready

Well it is that time of the year again. It seems to come so soon.School will be starting very soon. In fact we have a Kindergarten parent meeting on July 22. What this means to me is that I have just this week to get my classroom back together because we are leaving for the Daytona Beach on Friday.

I am changing the theme in my room this year so the next few days will be very busy. As always my daughter is helping me and she is very creative.

I will have pictures soon but here is just a hint. "Welcome to the clubhouse."

I am so excited about my new theme. School will be so fun this year. More to come!

Summer is here?

Even though we have been out of school for 2 weeks it has yet to feel like summer. The weather has been cool and rainy for days and days. We would love to see the sun. Our first week out of school was very busy. My middle daughter just turn 21 so My mother-in-law and I took her to Tunica, Mississippi for Memorial Day weekend. She had a blast.

My youngest daughter is 6 years old and is on a dance team. She had dance practice and recital the next weekend. Friday night and Saturday morning. On Saturday night we took our oldest daughter and her boyfriend to Kobe Japanese Steak House to celebrate their birthdays (our youngest daughter wennt as well). They have the same birthday which is also our anniversary. We had a fabulous meal and a great time.

The next 2 weeks will be filled with dance practice. We are headed to Gatlinburg, Tennessee for Stage One National Dance Competition at the end of the month. We also have Vacation Bible School and I have 3 days of CCSS Math Learning Leaders training during these 2 weeks. I will be leading an in-service at my school in July following this training. Other than the CCSS in-service I plan on waiting until July to think and plan for school.

Daytona Beach, Florida will be our vacation destination mid-July. Keeley (6 year old) is so excited.
